What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Leadership Institute (ELI) Director position at ACCEPT Education Collaborative?
SUMMARY: Manages administration and supervision of the ELI licensure program. The program prepares teachers and administrators with leadership potential for Principal/Assistant Principal PreK-6; 5-12. Upon completion of all ELI and DESE requirements, ELI endorses the cohort of candidates to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for licensure.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
SUMMARY: The ELI Director oversees all aspects of the licensure program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties:
1. Prepares and monitors budget for each fiscal year / each cohort
2. Seeks and maintains program approval from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
3. Coordinates curriculum, instruction, and assessment for program
4. Oversees the recruitment and application process for new cohorts of candidates
5. Teaches many seminars and oversees the instruction of all seminars
6. Completes the annual program report for DESE
7. Monitors all phases of the endorsement process with DESE
8. Monitors the progress of all ELI candidates
9. Communicates with Fitchburg State University regarding credit acquisition, pricing, and billing
10. Hires and supervises ELI faculty
11. With ACCEPT Collaborative executive director, establishes salary scale annually
12. Prepares purchase orders and agreements for all ELI staff
13. Prepares purchase order requests for all ELI expenditure
14. Participates in administrative meetings / events at ACCEPT Collaborative upon request
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for supervision of all ELI consultants / employees.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate possessed a minimum of a Masters degree in education or related field and is experienced in curriculum development, instruction, all aspects of school leadership and assessment of student learning. Leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate are imperative. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience as a principal, assistant superintendent or superintendent of schools.
