Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Cable Technicians should be skilled in cabling and installation of A/V telecommunications, phone, access controls, data port wall jacks, security and other IT-related systems. They should be prepared to assist in minor IT functions as directed by their project manager.
- Manage a small crew of technicians
- Train technicians in simple cabling/wiring
- Install fiber and copper wiring
- Light construction works as needed
- Install conduit
- Maintain safety procedures for each service calls, including:
- - Required PPE, Vehicle Inspection, Injury/Illness Reporting
- Some overnight travel may be required for this position
Work-Related Skills and Requirements
- Proficiency in wiring, cabling, and IT functions
- Have RJ 45, RJ 12, 66/110 blocks, racks, servers, J-hooks experience.
- Know how to run, test and terminate CAT 5 & CAT 6
- Knowledge of fiber cable and of CCTV a big plus
- Ability to work with computers, diagnostic equipment, and complex machines
- Troubleshooting capabilities
- Basic IT network topologies
- Must be able to work independently or with little to no supervision
- Critical Thinking and able to make a decision efficiently with very little or no instructions
- Five years experience in cable installation, running, splicing and terminating
- Two years Lead or Supervisory experience
Note: Will need to pass a criminal background check / get fingerprinted/drug test as required.
Summary
In the role of ISP Lead Cable Technician, you will oversee the installation and maintenance of cable systems for our customers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will utilize your core skills in cable installation, technical support, and management to lead a team effectively. Your premium expertise in installing, running, splicing and terminating CAT 5 & 6 cable will enhance operational efficiency, while your relevant skills in Microsoft Office will aid in documentation and reporting. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards in service delivery.

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
