Lead Installation Technician
The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for the planning, installation and completion of the entire scope of work for a project assignment which includes but is not limited to access control systems, automated gates, video surveillance, network IT systems and audio-visual systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervises and leads multiple crews, assigning tasks and scheduling for multiple jobs
  • Loads and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies for the job
  • Oversees cost effectiveness and proper disposal of leftover materials
  • Portrays the willingness and ability complete classroom and online training for certifications, as well as maintain certifications, and learn new products as required
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and customer service skills while collaborating seamlessly within a team setting, including working with other trades and on-site superintendents to accomplish tasks and phases of a project
  • Programs all functions of a system and make changes to programming as required
  • Trains the customer on all functions of a system, including software training
  • Accurately reports the daily status and schedule of all assigned jobs to the Operations Management
  • Submits daily field reports and timecards in an accurate and timely manner
  • Enters job-related data and information in the Company Project Management Tools
  • Responsible for keeping company vehicle clean, adheres to regular maintenance schedules, and will notify Management about any issues regarding the vehicle
  • Operates company vehicles in a safe manner and hauls heavy equipment as required
  • Regular attendance at work and provides appropriate flexibility
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and policies
  • Other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of experience in construction, low voltage, or security industries (access control, gates, cameras/AV or IT)
  • Familiar with computers, networks, switches and peripherals, low voltage cable and wiring, installation of access control devices, door locks and hardware, cameras and programming
  • Understands wiring and wiring schematics, wire types and standards for wire pulling and networking
  • Understands basic electronics, low voltage circuits and is familiar with the functions and use of a multi-meter
  • Ability to use power and hand tools to perform installation functions at an advanced level
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, symbols and how to scale drawings
  • Ability to read and understand building codes and follow building code requirements
  • Ability to read and understand budget and job cost summary reports and can work in an effective manner to stay on budget for all job assignments
  • Ability to stay on schedule and meet deadlines on multiple assigned jobs and projects
  • As a condition of employment, employer will conduct a background check and drug screen prior to hire
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to different work schedule including on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service and traveling out of town for projects
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors year-round in a variety of weather elements for 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week
  • Ability to understand, speak and write English
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • Compensation Range: pay is based on experience
  • Position hours: 7:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • Offsite travel required
  • Must provide basic tools (we provide the rest)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment for which this employee will be responsible to perform duties includes but is not limited to new construction sites, buildings, parking decks and other locations to perform the scope of work of a project and must abide by all safety requirements of all job sites. The employee will drive safely in a hectic city environment and enter and exit various job site locations including parking garages and decks to perform services and installations. The employee may occasionally have to lift and/or move up to eighty pounds. The employee will be expected to work with a crew or independently to perform services or installations. The employee may on occasion have to work out of state.
