What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Adaptive Riding and Horsemanship Program Volunteer position at Access Equestrian, Inc.?
Founded in 2010, Access Equestrian is proud to serve children and adults with a broad range of disabilities, and their families. Our professional staff work closely with our clients to develop and execute individualized plans that meet our client’s goals., Access Equestrian is seeking a diverse population of kind and caring volunteers to assist in our programs who have an interest in working with horses. Help is needed in our adaptive riding program for school aged children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Our lesson program operates Tuesday through Sunday, throughout the day. LGBTQ and BIPOC volunteers are encouraged to apply and support our diverse community.
We are currently looking for program volunteers for immediate placement in our spring program, two-hours once per week minimum. Volunteer times to be determined upon placement.
Volunteer duties vary according to each particular schedule, but include everything from barn care and horse handling, leading and side walking in lessons, as well as assisting adults and children with disabilities. The efforts of our incredible volunteers make our programs possible. All volunteers will receive orientation training before joining our program. Additional training may be required upon placement and experience.
