Job Summary:
The Core Laboratory Supervisor oversees technical supervision, quality control, quality assurance, proficiency testing, staff training, and operational workflows for the core lab at Access Medical Labs. This role demands a team-oriented leader with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance while fostering collaboration and innovation among staff.
Job Responsibilities:
· Implement and monitor quality control, proficiency testing (PT), and calibration procedures.
· Review and document quality control results, addressing outliers and initiating corrective actions.
· Perform and document instrument maintenance, calibration verifications, and troubleshooting as needed.
· Train and evaluate new and existing staff to ensure competency in assigned tasks.
· Coordinate and document annual and six-month competency assessments.
· Act as a mentor and provide technical guidance to staff.
· Oversee workflow and scheduling to ensure even distribution of workload and shift coverage.
· Address staffing shortages and personally provide bench support when required.
· Facilitate smooth transitions between shifts and ensure timely communication.
· Evaluate test results for accuracy and completeness.
· Perform statistical analysis of quality control data to identify and address discrepancies.
· Investigate and resolve technical issues related to laboratory procedures.
· Address conflicts constructively and equitably.
· Maintain courteous and cooperative relationships with staff, clients, and management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory instruments, quality control procedures, and proficiency testing.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong customer service skills to meet our high customer satisfaction mission.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
