Job Overview
Business continues to grow and we need to add a Low Voltage Installation Technician to complete on site installation and/or troubleshoot and repair client security systems including but not limited to video surveillance and access control security systems
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with installation and start-up of new equipment, make adjustments to ensure system is operating correctly and according to safety standards
- Work with Project Managers on system design and installation schedule
- Perform repairs/improvements to a variety of equipment under contract – inspecting, cleaning and calibrating equipment
- Trouble-shoot system failures; make necessary repairs or suggest system upgrade/replacement to Sales team for follow up with customer
- Apply knowledge of equipment to new and existing systems to be sure equipment is working in a safe manner to keep customer sites secure
- Update project documentation to capture differences between design drawings and actual installation
- Manage time effectively to stay within time and cost limits; communicate necessary deviations to Project Manager to reduce call backs
- Collaborate with Lead Technician and Project Manager for clarification of specifications and work instructions for advanced and/or unclear scope
- Interact with customers in a professional manner, properly train how to use new/upgraded system
- Attend training and keep up to date on new technology
- Other duties as assigned
Skills Requirements
- At least 1-year direct experience with low voltage installations
- Basic understanding of IP networking and computer systems
- New Mexico ES-3 Low Voltage Systems license preferred
- Technical competency with Physical Security systems, preferred
- Able to work independently as well as with a team, collaboration is critical
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective time management skills in a high-pressure environment
- Highly adaptable to schedule and scope of project changes
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Favorable results from a criminal background check including Motor Vehicle Record
- Favorable results from a pre-employment drug screen (including cannabis) and physical
Working Conditions
This position involves traveling to customer job sites in all weather conditions. Majority of the work day is spent on your feet. Involves; lifting/ moving computer equipment and components up to 75lbs. Travel required in state 60% of normal work schedule- day trips and overnights.
