The EVP of Operations serves as a member of the Executive team and reports directly to the President. This position merges the responsibilities of both the EVP of Information Systems and EVP of Operations, allowing one person to lead both technological strategies and overall operational efficiency within Accessia Health. The position requires a leader with a deep understanding of both technology and business operations and can thrive in a complex and fast-changing industry. This person anticipates needs and demands and works to provide logical, innovative, and creative solutions without explicit instruction. The successful candidate will manage a team of 5-7 direct reports and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and efficiency of our core systems and operational services.
Leadership and Strategy
- Enable a unified vision between technology and operational goals, facilitating better decision-making on how technology can be leveraged to optimize business processes.
- Streamline communication and collaboration between IT and operations teams, reducing redundancy and improving execution.
- Provide strategic leadership for the IT department, driving technological innovation and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and implementing robust cybersecurity measures.
- Develop and implement patient-centric strategies to enhance service quality and patient satisfaction.
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key employees, customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Partner with the President and Executive Leaders on business development to secure investment capital for growth targets and long-term sustainability.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee organizational operations, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures organizational outcomes are met and that long-term projects are executed efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with President.
- Create executive summaries and brief the President regularly on specific issues and projects.
- Compose and manage correspondence dealing with issues or subject matter that is highly sensitive and confidential
- Analyze methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, and maximize use of donations and investments.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
- Overseeing and cultivating relationships with external technology vendors, ensuring they deliver services and solutions aligned with business needs by negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, managing risks, and fostering strategic partnerships to optimize technology utilization and achieve business goals.
- Develop and monitor operating budgets, initiating corrective action when substandard financial performance occurs.
Team Development and Management
- Coach, mentor and develop the team, including IT and Patient Services department staff, to ensure they are delivering against key business metrics and maximizing personal and professional growth.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company, creating an effective reporting structure for high performing teams.
Policy and Compliance
- Ensure communication of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures both up and down the chain of command.
- Develop and implement policies for daily operations and compliance, including those related to data privacy and IT security.
- Maintain compliance with applicable, federal, state, and local business requirements, rules and regulations, with a particular focus on healthcare-related regulations such as HIPAA.
- Develop and implement systems to monitor and ensure compliance with productivity standards, performance standards and position competencies.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Technical knowledge in IT systems and infrastructure combined with strong operational management skills and business experience. Advanced degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 10 years of strategic experience in a similar environment, management consulting, or nonprofit healthcare.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale technology projects and operational improvements
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and the Board of Directors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be tactful and discrete with an ability to effectively solve problems and maintain cohesive relationships when resolving conflicts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Strong working knowledge of organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs.
