Accessible Space Inc. (ASI) is a national nonprofit organization providing housing and personal care services to individuals with physical disabilities, seniors and veterans.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounting Assistant - AR to join our team.
The Accounting Assistant serves as a key member of the Finance team, responsibilities for this position include prepare and process client service billings and adjustments for multiple locations in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain contact with insurance companies for private pay collection, providing them with any requested information, and rebill as necessary. Collect and set up necessary payment plans with clients who have insurance co-payments or spend-downs. Report any adjusting entries to supervisor.
To be qualified for this position the candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of accounts receivable practices and processes. A minimum of one year of successful experience with accounts receivable and collections. Previous successful experience with significant data entry responsibilities; experience with a computerized A / R system. Strong clerical skills and mathematical aptitude resulting in a high degree of accuracy in work. Ability to work under time pressures and meet deadlines. Demonstrated integrity and discretion in safeguarding confidential information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Accounting degree or accounting / finance education and working knowledge of ICD-9 coding a plus.
