What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services position at ACCESSPOINT RI?
The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing and Clinical is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of our Nursing and Clinical Departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the clinical and nursing department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Supervise all departments to ensure that all applicable documentation are met pursuant to regulatory standards and practice and is in compliance with all licensing and credentialing regulations and standards.
- Regular inspection of clients charts to ensure compliance with QI & QA Policy & procedures, as well as all other regulatory, funding, and clinical and medical standards.
- Meet with multi-disciplinary team regularly to ensure plan of care is followed and to report any concerns or problems.
- Supervise, monitor, and document staff delivery of all medical services.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the clinical and nursing department.
- Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents total regimen of care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed.
- Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of timely in-service training classes .
Specific Requirements
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
- 10 years of experience as a registered nurse 5 years in management, supervisory or director level role
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
