Description
Position Overview: The Clinical Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the clinical nursing operations of the agency, ensuring adherence to nursing standards, and promoting excellence in patient care. They provide leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff members, collaborating with the executive director and other stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Nursing Supervision:
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to LPNs and staff.
- Conduct regular supervision sessions, performance evaluations, and competency assessments as needed.
- Support staff members in delivering high-quality care, addressing patient needs, and implementing interventions.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in patient care.
- Conduct audits, reviews, and quality improvement activities to monitor services and outcomes.
- Implement evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Staff Development and Training:
- Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for all staff.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to enhance clinical skills, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration within the team.
- Program Development:
- Collaborate with the executive director and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in strategic planning, goal setting, and program evaluation processes.
- Contribute to the development of evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to patient care.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments and disciplines within the agency to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Facilitate communication, coordination, and referrals between staff members.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community resources, and regulatory agencies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and timely nursing documentation, records, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards, confidentiality protocols, and record-keeping requirements.
- Prepare reports, assessments, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of nursing standards, regulations, and evidence-based practices in healthcare.
