Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite residential and commercial loans for fix-and-flip, ground-up construction projects and DSCR rental loans.
- Analyze borrowers’ financial profiles, project feasibility, construction budgets, and appraisals for development or rehab projects.
- Assess risks related to construction timelines, costs, and project viability.
- Analyze and assess property valuations, including after-repair value (ARV) for fix-and-flip projects, and assess overall market conditions.
- Review, analyze, and underwrite residential and/or commercial mortgage loan applications.
- Assess the borrower’s creditworthiness, and other necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all investor and company guidelines.
- Approve or deny loans based on risk assessment and adhere to required timelines.
- Communicate with loan brokers and borrowers to resolve discrepancies or obtain additional information.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to all loan applications underwritten.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, underwriting guidelines, and changes in policies.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience as a Loan Processor, Loan Closer or working for a Mortgage Company, Bank or another financial institution.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Complex rationale and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other internet resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and be coached
- Adaptable to a flexible, fast-changing industry
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Ability to take accountability for actions
