API is seeking seasoned professional to join our company in the role of Java Developer. The position will be based in our technology office located in Markham, Ontario. While this is not a direct coding role, this individual will have a background in java-based web application development as well as good experience in linux and aws system administration. They will have strong technical, analytical and communication skills. With a strong application knowledge in hand, candidates will be able to combine working with clients, reading application/system logs and the associated code to troubleshoot issues and provide workarounds to issues. Strong performance in this role can lead to development roles, if desired.

- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting web-based Java/J2EE applications
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA preferred
- Exposure to Spring (MVC, Core and IOC), Hibernate, Struts, JSF, NodeJs, Linux
- Experience with Apache Tomcat, Weblogic & TomEE
- Solid understanding of ITIL practices around Request, Incident and Problem management
- Solid history of working with ITSM tools like Jira Service Desk or Service Now
- Experience reading and interpreting SOAP/REST based web services using XML/JSON
- Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and administration
- Strong SQL skills and working knowledge in Oracle
- Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively manage concurrent complex tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
- Prior airline domain experience, preferably in crew management/service area, is desirable
