Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Payment Poster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in medical billing and coding, familiarity with ICD-10 and DRG coding systems, and experience in medical office operations.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews client bank transactions and posts insurance payments and adjustments according to the remittance advice provided by the payer.
- Utilizes an automated posting process within the system to post electronic remittances and troubleshoots outstanding ERAs with no matching payment.
- Reviews all correspondence from payers and patients and posts payments/information to accounts appropriately to ensure follow-up actions can be taken.
- Processes and posts to accounts all credit card remittances sent by payers and patients.
- Monitors and reports any process issues that may decrease accuracy or efficiency in the posting and reconciliation area.
- Balances posting batches daily and monthly for each client.
- Monitors the credit balance report monthly and notifies clients when a refund is due to a patient. Once the client issues the refund, posts it to the patient’s account in the practice management software.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, compliance requirements, and performs work in accordance with regulatory standards pertaining to billing, patient privacy, and protection of electronic health information.
- Collaborates with internal colleagues, peers, and external client team members to carry out essential duties and assignments that support the goals and strategic direction of the company.

Requirements:

Education, Training, Certification, and Experience:
- Minimum of two years of prior experience working as a payment posting specialist
