Accountants One has been hired by a very stable company seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join their growing team.
The Accounting Manager will lead the financial reporting function and oversee a team of three staff accountants. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and managing payroll, commissions, audits, and budget preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has strong leadership and communication skills to work effectively with senior management.
Duties:
- Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger preparation, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly financial close.
- Payroll & Commission Processing: Manage semi-monthly payroll through Paylocity and ensure accurate commission calculations.
- Audit & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison for year-end audits, ensuring accurate documentation and financial integrity.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support budget planning and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to leadership.
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Manage and mentor a team of three staff accountants, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all accounting functions.
- Process Improvement & Systems Oversight: Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and best practices, identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
- Cash Flow & Financial Controls: Oversee cash management, tax compliance, and financial reporting tools to support company operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP Crystal Reports, and accounting software (Paylocity, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, payroll processing, and financial analysis.
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Experience working with ERP systems and tax compliance software is a plus.
