An accounting/tax firm in Columbia, MD is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Administrative Assistant for (in-office) work. This firm was featured in Bloomberg Tax & Accounting on several occasions and is a member of many prestigious organizations. The Accounting Administrative Assistant will enjoy their own private office while working in a warm friendly positive work environment with flexible work hours.
This position continually requires demonstrated poise and a high-level of professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally). The ideal candidate will be positive, hard-working, multitasking, enthusiastic, energetic, have experience working in a corporate office environment and possess the following:
· Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
· Familiarity with tax preparation and tax research
· Hands-on experience with MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and QuickBooks software
· Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research, math, and writing skills
· Must have the ability and commitment to deliver superior customer service
· Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
· Experience using QuickBooks and DRAKE tax software is a bonus!
We prefer candidates who has or seeking an accounting degree, but we are willing to consider those without a degree who have extensive administrative experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Draft, proof-read, edit, and revise documents such as excel spreadsheets, engagement letters, emails, marketing materials, power point presentations, and business proposals
- Data entry of sensitive and confidential client’s information such as tax documents, IRS wage and income statements, businesses profit & loss statements, retirement distributions, etc.
- Answer phones, greet customers, respond to potential new business inquiries as the first point of contact.
- Scaning and downloading documents and maintain daily record keeping with the electronic and physical filing of caseloads.
- Manage, monitor & coordinate senior executive and office calendars.
- Conduct tax research on cases and gather pertinent tax information.
- Taking the initiative, following up and following through to ensure that project deadlines are met, and project deliverables are of high quality and completed on time.
- Bookkeeping duties such as bank and credit card reconciliations and creating excel spreadsheets.
- Assist with and organize company social events
- Communicating with tax clients regularly to streamline the tax preparation process
- Assist with new business acquisitions by creating power point presentations and arranging meetings
- Outreach marketing and speaking with other business owners
- Create office signs and flyers, update social media accounts
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $42,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
