Job Description:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and processing payroll within the payroll accounting transaction cycle.
• Managing garnishments, Affordable Care Act (ACA) tracking, and check writing.
• Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintaining payroll documentation and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis.
• Reviewing bi-weekly payroll reports to verify payroll accuracy, including payroll deductions.
• Assisting with month-end closing processes.
• Supporting the review of federal and state tax returns and W-2s for accuracy and completeness.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or an associate degree.
• Minimum of three (3) years of payroll experience in organizations with over 1,000 employees.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling garnishments, ACA tracking, and payroll deductions.
• Proficiency in payroll software and accounting systems.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
