Roessel Joy is partnering with a well-known Property Management company in Boston who is looking to add a Property Accountant to their team. The ideal candidate has 5 years of accounting experience, a Real Estate/Property Management background, and has used Sage 300/Timberline. The Property Accountant will be integral to managing financial records for our property management clients. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for property management clients.
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
- Conduct general ledger accounting and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
- Prepare detailed financial reports in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes effectively.
- Mentor junior staff members in accounting best practices and processes.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for property operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
- Sage 300/Timberline Software experience
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting and accounts payable functions.
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions for data manipulation.
- Experience in the property management sector is a plus but not required.
