What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable/Accounting position at Accounting Now?
A non profit in Somerset County is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist with some accounting experience.
- Assist with all activities related to timely processing and recording of accounts payable (AP). Including EFT, online checks and manual checks
- Prepare A / P Aging report and evaluate possible needs for action.
- Communication of any observed irregularities to the Director of Finance and / or member of the financial services team
- Prepare journal entries to record transactions
- Preparation of annual 1099's for distribution.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for analysis as needed.
- Filing and other clerical work, as needed
- Performs actual purchase of supplies and food as well as preparation / coordination of payments.
- Maintains an up-to-date listing of all supplies and food needed and properly categorize them by use, program / department, movement, volume, value and some other measure.
- Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
Must have : Experience with an accounting system (ERP), preference to Sage MIP experience
Must have : Experience in processing accounts payable invoices, recording A / P payments, recording A / P accruals, etc.
Preferred skills : Pivot Tables, VLookups and HLookups
