Job Description:
As a Skilled CAD Design Drafter at Accredited Home Elevator, you will play a key role in our Drafting & Engineering department. You’ll be responsible for creating detailed drawings, designing elevator components, and contributing to various engineering projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow with the company while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elevator Design: Prepare detailed elevator drawings and specification sheets for state and architect plan reviews.
- Cab Design: Design elevator cabs and prepare bills of material for manufacturing and installation.
- Equipment Layouts: Create layout drawings for elevator mechanical equipment.
- Engineering Support: Assist with engineering change requests (ECRs) and general administrative duties.
- Machine & Assembly Drawings: Develop machine drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
- Testing & Fabrication: Participate in machine assembly, in-house and field testing, and support basic fabrication and assembly tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AutoCAD Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in orthographic machine drawings, isometric drawings, basic modeling, architectural floor plans, and detail drawings.
- Technical Skills: Understanding of basic drafting rules, dimensioning, and familiarity with ANSI Y14.6 or ISO 9000 (preferred).
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel (spreadsheet construction and basic formulas), Word (document crafting, SOPs, outlines, flow charts), and Outlook (emailing, communication).
- General Skills: Strong mathematical skills, problem-solving abilities, and mechanical aptitude. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as verniers, tape measures, and scales.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum: High School diploma.
- Preferred: Technical/Vocational School, some college experience.
- Additional: Design or architecture is a plus.
