The Pre-Press Technician – Level I is responsible for safe, quality and efficient mounting operation at Accredo Packaging.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Complies with established safety policies and procedures and other regulations as applicable.
- Reads and updates production schedule to confirm plate availability and status.
- Interprets job information (i.e. spec sheet, graphic approval sheet, layout, color target).
- Locates and retrieves sleeves operating sleeve storage robot. Cleans sleeves. Visually inspects and measures the TIR of each sleeve. Quarantines out-of-spec sleeves.
- Measures sticky back thickness. Quarantines out-of-spec sticky back.
- Locates and retrieves plates from plate storage.
- Mounts plate on sleeves by operating plate mounter. Maintains quality check sheet and mounting log and records downtime when remounting. Stages mounted sleeves.
- Strips plates from sleeve by operating plate demounter and cleans plates manually or by operating the plate cleaner.
- Inspects plate and identifies plate mileage. Destroys plates in poor condition or with excessive mileage.
- Cleans and ensures the department is maintained in an orderly fashion.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate shall possess the following:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer skills required. Experience with Microsoft suite products (i.e. Word, Excel) required.
- Basic math skills, required. Must pass the New Hire Base Assessment Test, which measures basic arithmetic and mechanical aptitude.
- Able to operate basic tools and measuring devices (i.e. tape measure).
- Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to the extent necessary to effectively communicate and interpret instructions.
- Operating experience in a manufacturing environment required. Mounting experience preferred.
- 12-hour shift work experience required.
- Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.
