The Career and Transfer Coordinator will play a crucial role in helping students successfully explore different careers during their academic journey. This individual will collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to provide comprehensive career counseling, academic coaching, transfer process advising, career event planning and execution, and resources to ensure students are well-prepared for the employment market, transfer, and achieving their career goals.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide career counseling sessions to students, helping them explore potential career paths, identify their strengths and interests through career coaching and interest inventories, and establish actionable plans to achieve their career goals.Works with the Director of Student Success and Success Team in implementing strategies related to career advising to meet retention and transfer goals.Complete other advising duties as requested such as: track retention, transfer, completion, and job placement metrics, conduct degree audits, and assist Success Team with registration and advising. Participate and assist students and support student services staff with campuswide events such as orientation, student engagement activities, and other events as needed.Support retention efforts and provide career and transfer planning assistance to students both undecided on their major as well as students planning to graduate towards the end of their students at the College.Diligently work with the faculty and other advising staff to integrate various career-related topics such as job search strategies, professional branding, networking, and interview skills into the student experience.Plan and execute Career Fairs, Meet Your Major Fairs, and Transfer Fairs on both campusesPlan and chaperone a Transfer Day to another university in the area to expose students to another campus.Using CRM tools to develop effective communication processes with students, faculty, and staff regarding career options and opportunities.Establish and execute student/employee visits with local businesses and industries for job shadowing/externship opportunities to build relationships with community partners and to provide student job insight early in their career planning exploration process.Plan and execute student workshops for career readiness and transfer process.Provides optimal customer service including courteous and responsive written and verbal communication.Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Success, Dean of Students, or President.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to effectively respond to questions from supervisors, faculty, staff, students, and the general public is required.Ability to work as an effective member of a productive, progressive leadership team. Ability to work well with individuals with diverse cultural differences. Ability to interpret and implement the Alabama Community Colleges System’s mission and ESCC’s mission.Experience using technology to enhance the College and its educational programs.Travel among ESCC/AAC locations is required. Occasional coordination and attendance of after-hour events is required.

POSITION AVAILABLE: March 2025SALARY: Salary Schedule E3 03 $45,220 –$62,710, to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience.
