- In Coordination with the department, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation of all financial statements.
- Manage day to day accounting activities
- Spearhead the department in the analyzation of key accounts, expense items, direct premiums written, reserves, losses incurred, and, ensuring statutory compliance
- Ensure compliance with NAIC and statutory accounting principles.
- Act as a liaison with outside audit firms and regulators during the audit process.
- Maintain and implement financial controls.
- Partner with stakeholders to prepare, validate, and submit statutory financial requirements, including the NAIC Quarterly and Annual Statements ("Yellow Book").
- Drive process improvements and utilize technology to make the accounting process more efficient.
- Strong leadership of the department and train staff to promote professional growth.
- Ad hoc reporting as requested by senior management.
