Summary
- Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the entire production process in a manufacturing facility, ensuring products are produced efficiently, on time, and within budget by developing and managing production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with various teams to meet production goals.
- Plan and organize the workflow to optimize output while minimizing delays, handling production disruptions and productivity problems and maximizing resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and make informed decisions regarding production planning.
- Planning and Organizing: Excellent time management skills to create efficient production schedules and prioritize tasks.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication to effectively collaborate with different teams and stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with production planning software, ERP systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expectations
- Have knowledge of AFI’s quality policy.
- Follow safety policies and procedures.
- Be aware of and participate in AFI’s preventative maintenance program.
- Have knowledge of job packet (router) sign-off procedures.
- Be able to read, interpret, and verify all job packets (routers) information.
- Have knowledge of Database Software, Manufacturing Software, and Order processing systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop Production Schedules: Create detailed production plans based on customer orders, demand forecasts, and available capacity, including assigning tasks to production teams and setting deadlines.
- Inventory Management: Monitor raw material levels, manage stock to prevent shortages or overstocking, and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze production capabilities and equipment availability to optimize production schedules and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Cost Control: Identify opportunities to reduce production costs by optimizing resource allocation and minimizing waste.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Track production metrics like output, efficiency, and scrap rates to identify areas for improvement.
- Problem-solving: Address production issues that arise during the manufacturing process and implement corrective actions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including sales, purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure smooth operations and alignment of production goals.
Work Schedule
The days of operation are Monday through Friday.
