Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Accessioning Manager at Accu Reference Medical Lab in Linden, NJ. The Accessioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of specimen accessioning processes, including sample labeling, data entry, and quality control. The role involves coordinating with laboratory processes and appropriate departments to ensure quality and efficiency are regularly met.
This position is responsible for the direct oversight of the overall operations of pre-analytical operations consisting of the training of all personnel, compliance training, monitoring quality of the department, monitor and improve productivity and maintaining HIPAA. The laboratory is located in Central New Jersey.
Responsibilities:
- Daily operations of department
- Directly supervise, train and mentor senior staff and supervisors
- Research and resolve any escalated production issues
- Produces metrics regarding daily workflow and maintain consistent results
- Verifying all processes from sample delivery to laboratory operations for accuracy
- Oversee safety of the department
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures for Specimen Processing in line with all CLIA, CAP and NYS regulations.
Requirements:
- Associates in applied sciences diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, as a Supervisor in a clinical laboratory
- Must be familiar with specimen handling in a laboratory setting and all pre-analytical components
- High attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Must read, write, and speak English, fluently
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, if necessary
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Knowledge of lab specimen handling procedures
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Previous experience in a medical laboratory setting
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Medical Technology)
