Job Summary
Accu-Tech Automotive is adding a Parts Advisor/Service Assistant position. The Parts and Service Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the shop. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage various administrative tasks, assist customers, and contribute to a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with both customers and team members.
Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting with product selection.
- Answer phones as needed.
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and inventory management.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist in restocking merchandise as needed.
- Communicate with technicians on parts needed for estimating purposes.
- Order, receive and bill parts and supplies to correct repair orders and billing departments.
- Organize parts per job upon delivery and communicate with technicians as parts arrive.
- Keep work area neat, clean and in order.
- Perform basic repair order estimating and eventually work up to more detailed estimates.
- Support automotive repair processes as needed, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient department operations.
- Eventually working up to performing opening and closing duties.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must have a valid drivers license and a clean, insurable driving record.
- Must have automotive experience in a real shop setting to be considered for this position.
- Knowledge of automotive repairs to accurately estimate and order proper parts is required.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer bases.
- Experience with cash registers and POS systems is preferred/not required.
- Basic math skills to facilitate accurate transactions and inventory management.
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
