Extrusion Operator - Blown Film

What you’ll be doing:

• Set up and run blown film extrusion machinery
• Follow resin blends recipe, communicate with your team and other departments, perform changeovers, troubleshoot film quality issues, train your team and help us to get better
• Set up and run blown film extrusion machinery by performing the following duties
• Learn to read job specification sheets and determine the correct product specifications such as film width, gauge and treat levels.
• Learn set-ups, changeovers and general extrusion functions.
• Manage department paperwork related to manufactured materials.
• Perform all necessary quality checks required to insure product quality.
• Develop skills to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment in the department.
• Optimize product quality and productivity while controlling scrap.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by the manager and/or designee.

Mandatory Job Requirements:

• MUST HAVE: Experience setting-up, operating and maintaining Blow Film Extrusion Machinery
• SHIFT: Ability to work 2nd shift Overnights - 6:00pm to 6:00am on a 2-2-3 Schedule
• LOCATION: Local, or within commutable distance to Carol Stream, IL.
• MATERIAL: Polyethylene blown film experience is a must
• ENVIRONMENT: 100 Degrees in the Summer - Hot environment due to the Blow Mold process
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• High level of measuring ability.
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• A drive to succeed with a self-starter approach and a can-do attitude.
• SQF Certified experience a plus but not required
