As a Safety Trainer at Ace Express Coaches, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and proficiency of our Motorcoach Operators. You will plan, organize, and deliver comprehensive training programs, conduct classroom sessions, and provide behind-the-wheel training. Your primary goal is to ensure that all drivers are well-versed in safety protocols and possess the necessary skills to operate vehicles safely. You will also support drivers in obtaining and renewing licenses and permits, and regularly assess their driving abilities.

Essential Job Functions:
Training and Development:
- Plan, organize, and conduct various training activities for Motorcoach Operators in compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to enhance safety awareness and driving skills.
- Conduct training sessions for both CDL and non-CDL drivers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Deliver comprehensive training and Pre-trip and Post-trip inspections, emphasizing thoroughness and compliance.
- Educate drivers on customer service, driver etiquette, safe driving practices, and proper use of ELD systems (Samsara and TripShot)
Driver Evaluation and Skill Assessment:
- Continuously review and asses drivers' understanding of safety procedures.
- Conduct regular driving skill assessments.
- Administer pre-employment road tests for potential Motorcoach Operators
- Train drivers in the operation of ADA wheelchair lifts
- Provide remedial behind-the-wheel training for drivers identified with infractions or Drive-cam events
- Be prepared to operate any service lines as required by operations.
- Assist with year-end reports and audit as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of CDL experience (Class A or B)
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a vehicle similar to those in our fleet.
- Valid Class A or B state driver's license with a passenger endorsement and air brakes certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Proficiency in basic math operations
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various formats
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
- Team player with a positive, collaborative approach
- Familiarity with Samsara ELD, smartphones/tablets, and map/routing application like Google Maps or Waze
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience in the past 5 years.
- Current medical card and clean MVR
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Ability to pass background check and drug test
