Position Overview

Ace Hardware is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Opperations Manager to support the operations of our Retail Store and Handyman Services. In this dynamic role, you will oversee critical office functions, including accounting, HR, and customer service, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management
- Post journal entries and reconcile the general ledger to inventory.
- Verify and balance general ledger entries against POS reports.
- Manage and reconcile bankcard recaps and ensure timely payment postings.
- Prepare and review monthly customer house account statements.
- Reconcile purchase orders with invoices, and handle Ace statement reconciliation.
- Complete payable tasks for owner’s approval and reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Oversee office staff as needed and assist with additional accounting responsibilities.
Human Resources
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of paperwork for all new hires.
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), etc.).
- Oversee monthly invoice calculations for all group insurance plans, ensuring proper cost allocation and reconciliation across store locations.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of benefit elections and ensure alignment with invoiced amounts.
Office Operations & Vendor Management
- Negotiate and maintain vendor contracts for indirect expenses such as waste management, utilities, and loss prevention.
- Manage office and store IT equipment, coordinating repairs and sourcing replacement parts as needed.
- Obtain competitive quotes for new equipment and services, ensuring cost-efficiency.
- Lead and support other office staff, ensuring smooth operations and high morale.
Customer Service & Scheduling
- Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls, following the company’s Call Blueprint to ensure quality service.
- Respond to emails promptly, addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
- Act as the CSR/Scheduler, managing work orders and maintaining the service schedule.
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate job extensions or customer requests.
- Resolve customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in office management, bookkeeping, and retail operations.
- Proficient in retail computer systems and related software.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships within the team.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
