General Position Summary:
Provide exceptional customer service, and proactively participate in the overall functioning of the Hardware Store.
Full-time or Part-Time position available with possible opportunity for year-round employment.
Starting Pay: $20 /hour. Overtime pay is 1.5 times regular pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following:
Customer Service:
• Provide a positive representation of [EMPLOYER].
• Possess a positive, friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Provide exceptional Customer Service.
• Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
• Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
• Ensure all phone calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
• Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
• Assist customers in finding the products they need to complete their projects, take them to the products, provide advice if you have knowledge in that area.
• Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.
Store Operations:
• Be available to work in 2 or more store locations. (Locations are in Orleans, Harwich Port, South Dennis, and South Yarmouth).
• Master the point-of-sale system and cash out customers at the register.
• Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
• Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store.
• Assist with price changes, special orders, acehardware.com orders, and maintaining back stock levels.
• Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area.
• Properly Merchandise products, rotate seasonal items, end caps, assist with resets through the store.
• Participate in all store labor services such as mixing paint and cutting keys, glass, shades.
• Ensure signage is current throughout the store.
• Communicate any customer complaints or questions to Manager or General Manager for follow up.
• Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to Manager.
• Participate in store meetings.
• Be professional in appearance and actions.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Experience
Formal retail experience preferred.
