Job Summary:
The Houseperson plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the hotel’s event spaces, and back-of-house spaces. This position supports the Events team by ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are stocked, furniture is properly arranged, and common areas are kept in pristine condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of hotel event areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, banquet rooms, and restrooms.
- Assist Events staff by delivering and retrieving linens, towels, and amenities as needed.
- Stock necessary supplies.
- Assist in deep cleaning projects, including carpet shampooing, window cleaning, and furniture polishing.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and Events team needs.
- Assist with moving furniture and setting up rooms for special events or guest needs.
- Remove trash and recycling from assigned areas and dispose of it properly.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Report maintenance issues or damage to the appropriate department for repairs.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by Events management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina to handle lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
