Junior Accountant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This is an entry-level position requiring 0-2 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. The Junior Accountant will report directly to the CFO and support the CFO and finance team in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and meeting regular deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain financial records
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations
- Prepare ad hoc reports as needed
- Manage customer invoicing and apply payments
- Process supplier invoices and payments
- Communicate effectively, including making phone calls as needed, to resolve discrepancies and gather financial information
- Utilize computer applications such as Excel for data analysis and reporting; experience with QuickBooks or ERP software is a plus
- Ensure adherence to IT security protocols and participate in IT training to maintain network and database security
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
- Support with inventory management and reporting
- Assist with payroll functions as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships, part-time roles, or coursework projects may be applicable)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently make phone calls and collaborate with team members
- Proficiency and enjoyment in working with computer applications, particularly Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks or ERP software is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
