Sheet Metal Operator Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sheet metal production operations according to production job requirements, including rolling, drilling, tapping, spot welding, and assembly
- Coordinate with team members to receive materials and work these materials per the prescribed production sequence
- Utilize skills related to reading and using measurement tools, including calipers, gauges, measuring tapes
- Responsible for reading instructions, job routings and blueprints
- Responsible for safe operations, demonstrating high safety standards and knowledge of proper operating procedures
- Maintains straightening when shooting studs
- Working knowledge of metal types in relation to fabrication requirements
- Responsible for managing a clean fabrication workspace
- Perform light maintenance on tools (sharpening bits); maintains power and handheld tools including drills and grinders
- Working knowledge of the proper use of standard tools and which tools are required for each fabrication process
- Notify Value Stream Leads of preventive or emergency maintenance issues
Safety Responsibilities:
- Always wear personal protective equipment when in the plant
- Participate in all required safety training and perform as trained
- Speak up when you see something happening that is not safe
This is a safety sensitive position.
