Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Division Order Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting title documents and maintain and update division order decks. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various data analysis tools to support business operations and improve processes.
The Division Order Analyst will play a key role in maintaining accurate ownership records, interpreting legal and title documents, and ensuring timely revenue distribution to mineral owners. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of mineral ownership, and the ability to collaborate closely with Landmen, Accounting, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze title documents, leases, deeds, assignments, probate records, and legal instruments to verify ownership and confirm interests.
- Maintain and update division order decks, tracking ownership changes and ensuring data integrity.
- Input ownership data into OG SQL system (preferred); assist in future transition to Quorum.
- Collaborate closely with Land and Accounting departments to reconcile records.
- Track ownership and billing changes in Excel spreadsheets for accuracy and audit readiness.
- Communicate with mineral owners, Landmen, and internal teams to address ownership inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage general administrative tasks such as filing, document scanning, and file cleanup.
- Support ongoing process improvements, file maintenance efforts, and contribute to an efficient workflow.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in division order analysis, land administration, or related oil and gas roles.
- Proficiency in interpreting legal documents related to mineral ownership and title.
- Strong knowledge of division order processes, particularly in horizontal drilling operations.
- Experience with OG SQL system required; familiarity with Quorum is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills, especially for tracking and reconciling ownership data.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage varied responsibilities in a small, hands-on office environment.
- Local to Midland, TX, and available for on-site work (Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM).
- College degree and/or law degree preferred but not required.
- Membership in NADOA is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with a major operator is preferred but not required.
