**Job Summary**
The Emergency Screener will provide emergency and mental health assessments to patients in crisis stabilization, screen patients for psychiatric hospitalization, and provide crisis stabilization services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing alternative treatment plans, consulting with psychiatrists and ER doctors, and working collaboratively with coworkers and agency staff to effectively communicate and problem solve.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provides appropriate referral and linkage when indicated.
- Develops and implements alternative treatment plans.
- Consults with psychiatrist and E.R. doctor regarding client disposition.
- Provides assessment of drug and alcohol involvement when clinically indicated and provides disposition planning for D/A involved patients.
- Completes Authorization for Police Transport form (when appropriate), Screening Document, and appropriate clinical instruments.
- Works collaboratively with coworkers and agency staff to effectively communicate and problem solve.
**Requirements**
- Master's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus one year of postmaster's full-time equivalent professional experience in a psychiatric setting; or
- Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field from an accredited institution, plus three years post-bachelors full-time equivalent professional experience in the mental health field, one of which is in a crisis setting;
- Bachelor's degree in the mental-health-related field, one of which is in a crisis setting, and currently enrolled in a master's program.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle, and an acceptable driving record.
