Are you an experienced Hotel leader with a passion for the hospitality industry? We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as Assistant Hotel General Manager in beautiful Ocala, FL!
Responsibilities:
- Support hotel operations, including guest services, sales, maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, and food & beverage.
- Provide shift coverage as needed.
- Monitor and uphold procedures for control of supplies, keys, money, credit, and account access.
- Perform property walks and inspections daily to ensure every space is safe, welcoming and guest-ready.
- Teach and uphold all brand standards.
- Remain up to date and implement brand standard changes.
- Complete corporate training and become certified to train those as required.
- Support and guide all front-line associates in all aspects of their roles.
- Understand and be able to perform any role in the hotel.
- Develop, mentor, encourage, and continuously coach employees to achieve both technical excellence and hone "soft skills" of ethics and interpersonal communication.
- Enforce policies, contribute to SOP checklists to support day-to-day operations.
- Embody the ideals of authentic hospitality to ensure guest satisfaction and a fun and welcoming work environment for all colleagues.
- Maintain an active and visible presence in public areas, greeting guests and assessing their level of satisfaction.
- Address all guest complaints and reviews.
- Promote and cultivate relationships with guests and potential clients.
- Assist in sales efforts.
- Assess all ongoing maintenance tasks daily.
- Maintain legal standards in occupational, health, fire, safety, food, lodging, and human trafficking.
- Meet all corporate deadlines.
- Maintain highly organized and efficient workspaces.
- Assist in HR functions, including training, employee development, and performance management.
- Lead meetings.
- Foster a positive work environment through team building activities and one-on-one check-ins with staff.
- Optimize resource utilization and manage inventory.
- Manage basic IT, network, server, voice, PMS, and mission-critical services.
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, vendors, and community establishments.
- Stay current on industry trends, attend trade shows/conferences, and pursue continuing education.
- Make recommendations and implement any changes needed to meet and exceed company objectives.
Qualification Standards:
- Previous Marriott experience
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hotel experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Expert knowledge in hotel technology, software, management, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of personnel/HR management.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves sitting, standing, walking, visual acuity, and manual tasks both indoors and outdoors.
Candidate must have the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Language:
Proficient in English, both written and verbal. Bi-lingual preferred.
Work Environment:
Moderate noise level in indoor and outdoor settings typical of the hospitality industry.
Other Qualifications:
Successful candidates must pass a comprehensive background and drug screening.
