POSITION TITLE:    SEASONAL EMPLOYEE 

DEPARTMENT:        BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT

REPORTS TO:            BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SUPERVISOR   

  

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Behavioral Health Supervisor, the Seasonal Worker is responsible for the overall completion of general manual labor, including but not limited to, electronics dismantling, janitorial cleaning, and moving furniture as assigned by the supervisor, completing training and certifications necessary to accomplish tasks to standards and complying with published procedures and regulations. Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor.  

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

General manual labor tasks, to include but not limited to, dismantling electronics, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies. 

Performs to standard all tasks listed in Task and Frequency Charts associated with assigned section. 

 

Conducts Preventive Care and Maintenance, to include but not limited to, operator level maintenance of janitorial equipment, facility light bulb replacement and facility filter replacement. 

 

Maintain accountability and serviceability of assigned tools and equipment and report equipment discrepancies to the Behavioral Health Supervisor. 

 

Completes required and mandatory training necessary for compliance and task accomplishment. 

Correctly identifies and employs necessary chemicals for task accomplishment. 

Responsible for adhering to all published safety guidelines, to include but not limited to, posted procedures, equipment operating instructions, Safety Data Sheets and reporting safety concerns or violations to BHT. 

Responsible for reporting the following to include but not limited to discrepancies, damage to equipment, damage to facilities, safety violations, and for adhering to published procedures. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A.     Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

B.     Confidentiality

 

   This position is exposed to HIPPA and confidential client information. 

 

C.     Mental Application and Responsibility

Must have the ability to identify essential job tasks. 

D.    Internal and Public Contacts

This position involves extensive interaction with staff, subordinates and supervisors, as well as high level interactions with community leaders, providers, the Arizona Department of Economic Security and others.

F.     Physical Demands

This position may require frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching over head and or standing for long periods of time. Staff must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 30 pounds.

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must be able to communicate clearly and effective orally and in writing; possess clearly and concise writing skills and excellent time management skills.

Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations. 

C.     Reasoning

Critical thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and synthesis. 

D.    Other

Must have the ability to project professionalism and amiability as an Agency representative. 

QUALIFICATIONS

A.     Education

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. 

B.     Experience

No experience required.

C.     Other

Must be over 18 years of age.

Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

OSHA

Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was passed to prevent workers from being seriously harmed at work or killed at work, and the law requires employers to provide their employees with working conditions that are free of known dangers.  The Act created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which sets and enforces protective workplace safety and health standards which are maintained by the Agency.  OSHA also provides information, training and assistance to workers and employers.  Workers may file a complaint to have OSHA inspect their workplace if they believe that the Agency is not following OSHA standards or that there are serious hazards in the workplace.  An injured worker may undergo a drug screening.
