Hourly rate: $17.70

Scheduling and supervising participants in the Achieve Summer Work Study Program, which assists participants ages 14 – 21 gain vocational skills through job assignments and curriculum time. Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – The Work Study Team Lead is responsible for providing oversight & direction to counselors and campers within their assigned age group. Scheduling and supervising participants in the Achieve Summer Work Study Program, which assists participants ages 14 – 21 gain vocational skills through job assignments and curriculum time. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise & mentor 15-20 counselors.
- Conduct weekly team meetings with counselors.
- Provide training, direction & oversight of counselors/classrooms.
- Ensure counselors and campers are attending scheduled activities.
- Complete performance evaluations on each counselor.
- Schedule 10 work study participant’s job assignments – each participant works one hour per day. Work with the Program Director, Coordinators and Team Leads to coordinate the participant’s work time with other camp activities.
- Train participants to use electronic time and attendance and approve timecards.
- Train and supervise participants on their assigned job responsibilities, which may include; janitorial, counselor assistant or cafeteria duties.
- Write lesson plans with work related curriculum, 2 hours per week; career exploration, resume writing interview skills, etc.
- Awareness and appropriate utilization of behavior management plans.
- Assist with coordination and supervision on program wide field trips & special activities.
- Serve as primary contact for communication with parents to inquire about any unreported absences or report incidents & problems.
- Complete incident/accident reports on students/counselors as required. Responsible for complying with all Part 635, Part 671, Part 624 and Part 633 regulations in total, and reporting violations, deficiencies, and/or incidents to direct supervisor as they are discovered or indicated.
- Assist with handling of camper behaviors.
- Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in human services, recreation, or related field with 1-2 years’ experience in working with individuals that have functional differences.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
- Must be able to obtain & maintain certification in CPR, First Aid and SCIP.
