Position Overview
All Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF) employees are required to uphold the mission and vision of ACCF and to foster an environment that promotes the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of each child enrolled.
The Director of Development & Individual Giving will play a key role in ACCF’s fundraising efforts, focusing on securing support from individual donors through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement strategies. This position will develop and implement strategies to increase major, mid-level, and annual donations while managing volunteer engagement initiatives related to individual giving. The ideal candidate will have a passion for relationship building, a strong background in nonprofit fundraising, and the ability to inspire donors to support ACCF’s mission.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Develop and execute a comprehensive individual giving program, including major gifts, mid-level donors, annual fund appeals, and planned giving
· Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with new and existing individual donors
· Develop and implement donor recognition programs to enhance engagement and retention
· Manage the Annual Fund Campaign, direct mail appeals, online fundraising, and peer-to-peer giving initiatives
· Work closely with the Board of Directors and the CEO to develop strategies for engaging major donors
· Create and oversee donor appreciation events and engagement opportunities
Donor & Prospect Development· Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify new potential donors
· Develop personalized cultivation strategies to engage and solicit donors at various giving levels
· Lead the stewardship process, ensuring donors receive regular communication, updates, and personalized acknowledgments
Volunteer Engagement· Develop and manage individual volunteer engagement programs, aligning opportunities with donor interests
· Cultivate relationships with volunteers, encouraging increased engagement and philanthropic support
Planning, Monitoring & Reporting· Track and analyze fundraising metrics to inform strategy and measure effectiveness
· Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM system (DonorPerfect preferred), ensuring effective data management and follow-up
· Provide regular reports on donor pipeline, fundraising progress, and revenue projections to ensure continuous growth and engagement
Marketing & Community Engagement· Collaborate with the ACCF marketing team to create donor-centered communications and campaigns that drive engagement
· Collaborate with event management company to support their efforts in planning events related to individual giving
· Represent ACCF at community events, networking opportunities, and speaking engagements
· Work with the team to develop storytelling initiatives that highlight donor impact
Other duties as assigned· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business or a related field; Master’s degree preferred· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on individual giving and major gifts
· Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, including donor engagement, solicitation and stewardship· Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in philanthropy· Strong commitment to ameliorating the social challenges faced by low-income children and families through high-quality programming and support· Commitment to respectful, positive behavior toward, and interactions with, children and families, colleagues, volunteers and visitors is a must
· Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills· Ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans· Proficiency in fundraising CRM systems (DonorPerfect preferred)· Strong written and verbal communication skills· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail· Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
· Must be able to utilize a computer for extended periods of time· Must be able to endure repetitive wrist, hand and finger movement while operating office equipment/typing· Requires clarity of vision at close distances while operating a computer
