Role Overview:
The Facilitator is responsible for delivering engaging, interactive sessions that empower youth with social & emotional intelligence, leadership, life skills, and personal development. This role ensures that workshops are effectively facilitated, discussions are impactful, and participants are fully engaged in their learning journey. The Facilitator works closely with ASOP leadership to implement curriculum, foster mentorship, and create an inclusive and inspiring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Facilitation & Engagement:
- Lead dynamic and interactive workshops that align with ASOP’s mission and curriculum.
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages active participation.
- Facilitate discussions, activities, and skill-building exercises that promote healthy habits, coping strategies, model behavior, leadership and personal growth.
- Adapt content delivery to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and group dynamics.
Mentorship & Youth Development:
- Build positive relationships among participants, offering guidance and support.
- Serve as a mentor and role model, reinforcing ASOP’s core values.
- Encourage youth to set and achieve personal and leadership goals.
- Support Ambassadors in transitioning into leadership roles within ASOP and their communities.
Program Coordination & Implementation:
- Assist in planning and preparing materials for each session.
- Track participant engagement, progress, and feedback for program improvement.
- Collaborate with ASOP management to enhance curriculum and program effectiveness.
- Coordinate guest speakers and special activities to enrich the ASOP experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience Working with Youth: Background in youth development, teaching, mentorship, education, or leadership programs.
- Facilitation & Public Speaking: Strong ability to lead group discussions, workshops, and interactive learning experiences. Excellent public speaking abilities to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Mentorship & Relationship-Building: Passion for guiding and empowering youth.
- Adaptability & Creativity: Ability to adjust facilitation style to meet diverse needs and learning environments. Demonstrated team collaboration skills
- Strong Communication & Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively engage participants and manage session logistics. Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Community Engagement: Familiarity with local youth resources and organizations is a plus.
Education:
A background in public speaking, social work, education, communication or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in youth program facilitation will also be considered.
