ACI Solutions is seeking a Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Technician to support our operations in Herndon, VA. This critical role is responsible for maintaining secure communication systems in support of national security.
This is a mission-critical position requiring a flexible schedule to support a small team. Candidates must be comfortable working night shifts and willing to cover additional shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Technician will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Operate and maintain (O&M) DRSN equipment, including the Digital Small Switch - 2A (DSS-2A) and GENEA systems.
- Perform all O&M actions in accordance with Defense Information System Network (DISN) and Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Operations and Maintenance (O&M) guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair DRSN telephone switches, Integrated Services Telephones (IST), Executive Touch Screen Phones (TXP), cryptographic devices, and supporting equipment.
- Maintain technical and circuit drawings, as well as system documentation and logs.
- Manage and maintain the DRSN master station log in compliance with DISA Circulars.
- Conduct database management 24/7, including telephone number changes, hotline modifications, conference updates, and routing adjustments per the DISA, Telephone Control Officer (TCO), or Contracting Officer Representative (COR) directives.
- Facilitate the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process for equipment repairs and report all service actions to the COR or NCOIC.
- Ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) policies, maintaining the Authority to Operate (ATO) for DRSN systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS) to ensure system readiness.
- Update cryptographic devices and perform Crypto Responsible Officer (CRO) duties.
- Train personnel on DRSN equipment operation, including IST, DSS-2A, ECC, CEU, Miniaturized Dual-Function Adapter (MDA), Digital Phone Multiplexer (DPM), Universal Digital-Loop Transceiver Multiplexer (UMUX), and KIV-19M.
- Assist the Node Site Coordinator (NSC) in maintaining accurate circuit drawings and preparing for government inspections.
- Maintain a secure email account for communication and reporting.
- Support shift coverage and provide on-call support when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top-Secret Security Clearance
- Security Certification
- 5 years of hands-on experience with the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN).
- Completion of the DRSN GENEA Military Technical Training course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
- Availability for a rotating 12-hour night shift schedule (6 PM 6 AM):
- Week 1: 3 days (36 hours)
- Week 2: 4 days (48 hours)
- Willingness to cover additional shifts as needed.
