The Materials Manager will be responsible for overseeing lab testing, material inventory management, proper blending of materials for projects, and working closely with various departments to ensure smooth operations.
Job Description:
As the Materials Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the materials workflow for our lab and warehouse operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the proper testing, handling, and blending of materials to meet the quality standards required for all projects. In addition, you will oversee inventory management, perform routine equipment maintenance, and work with the operations and engineering teams to optimize processes and reduce material costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the proper testing and analysis of materials using lab equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Operate lab equipment such as mixers, blenders, and testing apparatus to ensure efficient and precise material processing.
- Manage material inventory, including tracking usage, reordering supplies, and ensuring the proper storage of materials.
- Ensure accurate blending of materials for jobs, adhering to project specifications and quality standards.
- Obtain representative samples of materials to test for consistency and quality.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot any issues to ensure equipment is in proper working condition for material processing.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed for material handling and transportation.
- Collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to identify process improvements, reduce material costs, and optimize workflows.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory, material usage, and testing results.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies in the lab and warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- 0-5 years of experience in a materials, operations, or lab testing role.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including operations and engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process optimization.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
