Mechanical Assembler

Position reports to: Assembly Group Leader

Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Pay Rate: DOE

Summary:

Assemble and erect complex precision mechanical assemblies and complicated mechanisms having critical dimensional specifications and operating relationships. The fitting of components, calibration of operating units, alignment, and/or balancing of completed assemblies requires a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and assembly techniques plus diversified long-term experience.

Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings and schematics.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate assembly.
- Operate hand tools and power tools to fabricate and assemble parts.
- Follow established procedures and work instructions to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly techniques.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot assembly issues.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
