Description
The program has three main goals: 1) to expand surveillance capacity; 2) improve care coordination for infants and pregnant and postpartum people affected by substance use; and 3) collaborate with partners to improve the system of care for infants with NAS and their families. The NAS Surveillance Program team consists of a Program Director, a Medical Director, and Epidemiologist, and two Public Health Nurse Consultants.

Description

Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead weekly team meetings
- Attend and represent the Tennessee team during all meetings with CDC and other awarded jurisdictions
- Attend and represent Tennessee during Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologist (CSTE) NAS surveillance workgroup meetings
- Oversee the completion of all grant deliverables and manage the grant budget
- Actively participate in strategic planning for the program
- Work with the team to develop reports and disseminate findings to leadership and partners
- Keep up-to-date on NAS surveillance best practices and identify opportunities to learn from partners and other jurisdictions participating in NAS surveillance and research
- Identify opportunities for the NAS team to share data and program findings at conferences and through manuscript development
