The Client is hiring a Program Director for the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Surveillance Program. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the program, grant and budget and ensuring that planned activities are implemented.
The NAS Surveillance Program was established in 2013 when NAS was added to reportable disease list. In 2023 the program was awarded a 4-year Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) grant titled Pregnant People-Infant Linked Longitudinal Surveillance.
The program has three main goals : 1) to expand surveillance capacity; 2) improve care coordination for infants and pregnant and postpartum people affected by substance use; and 3) collaborate with partners to improve the system of care for infants with NAS and their families.
Key Job Responsibilities :
Lead weekly team meetings
Attend and represent the team during all meetings with CDC and other awarded jurisdictions
Attend and represent during Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologist (CSTE) NAS surveillance workgroup meetings
Oversee the completion of all grant deliverables and manage the grant budget
Actively participate in strategic planning for the program
Work with the team to develop reports and disseminate findings to leadership and partners
Keep up-to-date on NAS surveillance best practices and identify opportunities to learn from partners and other jurisdictions participating in NAS surveillance and research
Identify opportunities for the NAS team to share data and program findings at conferences and through manuscript development
