Locally owned and operated, Acme Fresh Market has been feeding the families of Northeast Ohio for over 130 years. Today, the company operates 16 Acme Fresh Market locations in Summit, Portage, Stark and Cuyahoga Counties and employs over 1,700 associates.
Position Summary
Responsible for category expertise around trends and category innovation. Proactively design a comprehensive category strategy which successfully meets the needs of our customers and achieves category goals while supporting brand integrated business plans.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages performance for assigned category including margin and shrink
- Manages assortment and selection for assigned categories
- Develops and executes customer-focused category plans and drives a selling culture
- Responsible for all category financial & customer metrics
- Responsible for procurement and replenishment and in stock position at the shelf (Center Store) [Service levels, inventory/days on hand, forecasting and seasonal impacts)
- Manages pricing for assigned categories and influences pricing strategy
- Foster relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
- Provide support and direction to store departments
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc
- Ability to learn software programs specific to category management
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and meet hard deadlines
- Ability to manage day to day administrative activities in support of designated category
- Ability to adapt and drive change
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to travel to Industry Trade shows
Work Environment
This position is located at Acme Headquarters in Akron, Ohio.
This position makes frequent store visits to all Acme Fresh Market Locations.
The ideal candidate has industry experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, enjoys the challenge of increasing sales and developing relationships and approaches work with a sense of urgency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
