Shipping/Receiving Lead

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Shipping/Receiving Lead to oversee the shipping/receiving operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management and inventory control, along with mechanical knowledge and experience in shipping and receiving processes. As a Shipping/Receiving Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products, while leading a team to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all shipping activities within the warehouse.
• Ensure accurate and timely receipt of goods, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
• Maintain an organized receiving area to facilitate efficient operations.
• Train and mentor warehouse staff on best practices for shipping procedures, materials handling and inventory management.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding shipments.
• Prepare accurate shipping documents, including customs documentation.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Drive company flatbed trucks for local pickups and deliveries.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations; leadership experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with shipping systems and logistics.
• Clean driving record with some truck driving experience.
• Experience in inventory management practices and procedures.
• Proficient in shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred).
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
• Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance standards in warehousing and logistics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.40 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
