We are seeking an Associate CMM Programmer to develop and optimize CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs with a focus on ease of use for operators. The ideal candidate will assist in creating, testing, and refining CMM programs that ensure accurate inspections while prioritizing user-friendly automation and intuitive workflows for production operators. This position will also be responsible for running CMM machines to support production as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and optimizing CMM programs using PC-DMIS
- Ensure operator-friendly program interfaces by simplifying inputs, adding guided prompts, and automating processes.
- Support trial runs and troubleshoot programs to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and ease of execution.
- Run CMM machines for production parts, tooling, fixtures, projects as necessary.
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to streamline inspection processes.
- Assist in maintaining and updating CMM programs to accommodate design changes or process improvements.
- Provide basic training and support for operators to ensure seamless execution of measurement programs.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings to develop efficient measurement routines.
- Document programming procedures and troubleshooting guidelines for future reference.
- Basic experience or education in CMM programming and precision measurement. (Is a plus but not required)
- Familiarity with PC-DMIS (training provided as needed). (Is a plus but not required)
- Understanding of GD&T principles and blueprint reading.
- Ability to assist in creating intuitive and automated programs for operator ease.
- Problem-solving skills to support troubleshooting and program adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to CMM operation and basic setup.
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) tools and quality inspection methods.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
