Now Hiring! Consultant II Location: Houston, TX. Salary: $80K-$105K/yr. Job Summary: Acorn International is seeking a Consultant II to join our team! In this role, you will lead a team in successfully delivering consulting services to our clients, with a focus on meeting project expectations regarding scope, schedule, and budget. Additionally, you will conduct detailed analyses and develop content for Social and Environmental Baseline and Impact assessment studies for a diverse range of clients. Benefits: - Health, Dental and Vision insurance - Company sponsored retirement program with match - Life insurance - Company paid LTD - Paid time off - Paid sick leave - Paid holidays and vacation What You’ll Do: - As a project team leader, conduct site assessments, identify potential environmental and social risks and opportunities. - Effectively and efficiently develop reports as deliverables for clients. - Lead environmental and social projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. - Develop relationships with clients to become dependable consultants. - Consistently deliver high-quality consulting services, maintaining responsibility for leading complex tasks and up to moderately complex (generally not multi-phased or multi-year) projects. - Start to develop reputation as widely recognized and respected environmental or social performance assurance subject matter expert with broad fungibility and knowledge/promotion of Acorn International mission. - Periodically contribute to industry knowledge through subject matter articles and speeches/panels. - Support management and development of key client relationships resulting in growing trajectory of repeat business. - Stay current with environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and industry trends. - Manage and approve project invoicing and collection of payment from client. - Apply technical knowledge to develop innovative solutions for complex environmental and social performance challenges. - Supervise data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform project decisions and recommendations. - Assist clients in navigating impacts to the environment or community. - Represent the firm at industry conferences, meetings, and public forums. - Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need: - Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field, with project management and leadership experience. - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Environmental Policy, or a related field. - Proven proficiency in the following software/platforms: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Forecast, and Harvest. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills. - Physical demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
