JOB OVERVIEW:
Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to Resort specifications, courteously and efficiently. Collect payments. Also assists in the maintenance of the Restaurant area and equipment.
REPORTS TO: Assistant F&B Manager /F&B Recreation Manager / F&B Manager
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
IRD, Banquets, Costa Grill, Kitchen/Stewarding areas.
Job involves working:
- under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
- under variable noise levels.
- outdoors/indoors.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Staff in IRD, Costa Grill, Bar, Kitchen/Stewarding, Housekeeping and Front Desk.
External: Resort guests/ visitors and resident guest/visitors
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
- Provide legible communication and directions.
- Compute basic arithmetic.
- Food handling certification.
- knowledge of variable food service styles
- 2 years experience as a Restaurant Server.
- Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to:
- understand and focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
- be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to # guests within any given period of time.
- focus attention on details.
- suggestively sell restaurant menu items, beverages and wines.
- access and input information into P.O.S. system.

Desirable:
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
- Previous culinary training.
- Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish/other.
- Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
- Certification in CPR.
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computer/point of sales system.
- Prior guest relations training.
