What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at ACRA Aerospace?
Summary/objective
Acra Aerospace is an industry leader in the fabrication of engine and structural components for aircraft. We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help support the production of these parts and improve the way we manufacture them.
Essential functions

· Maintain existing manufacturing routing and identify areas for improvement
· Review and approve manufacturing routing, inspection sheets, and other relevant documentation
· Maintain, and improve Engineering procedures
· Participate in cross-functional team discussions
· Analyze nonconformances and perform root cause & corrective action activities
· Support quotation activities with feasibility studies and costing analysis
· Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and interns in all of the above job functions
Qualifications
· Manufacturing Processes and Manufacturing Engineering skills
· Industrial Engineering knowledge
· Background in Mechanical Engineering
· Experience with Machining techniques
· Understanding of CNC operations and programming
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or industrial engineering
· OR
· 3 years of experience in a relevant manufacturing position
Preferred education and experience
· Experience with Microsoft Office suite and 3D CAD software (Solidworks a plus!)
· Experience with standard CNC machining processes, including tooling and set-ups
· Experience with standard aerospace special processes (i.e. dry-film lube, etching, non-destructive testing)
· Experience with documenting processes and writing work instructions
· Experience with GD&T
· Experience with project management, especially with high-mix, low-volume operations
Work Environment
· Typical office environment with amenities necessary to facilitate work duties.
· Will occasionally need to walk around the site which includes a machine shop, shipping dept, quality assurance office, etc.
Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift up to 20lb (standard)
